RealSense, a AI-powered computer vision, has officially emerged as an independent company following its spinout from Intel Corporation.
The newly standalone firm also announced the successful closure of a $50 million Series A funding round, led by a top-tier semiconductor private equity firm with participation from Intel Capital and the MediaTek Innovation Fund.
Now operating independently, RealSense aims to accelerate innovation in 3D perception technologies that power robotics, biometrics, and physical AI. With its independence, the company is strategically positioned to move faster, adapt to market shifts, and scale its presence in key global markets.
“We’re building on our leadership in 3D perception for robotics and preparing to meet the growing demand for intelligent machines,” said Nadav Orbach, CEO of RealSense. “Being independent allows us to move with greater agility and pursue bold innovation as the world enters a new era of physical AI.”
The $50 million in fresh capital will support RealSense’s plans to expand into adjacent sectors, scale manufacturing and sales, and strengthen its go-to-market operations. The company sees high-growth potential in humanoid and autonomous mobile robotics (AMRs), as well as AI-powered biometric access control and security systems.
RealSense already has a strong presence across sectors like industrial automation, healthcare, security, and assistive technologies, with key partnerships including ANYbotics, Eyesynth, Fit:Match, and Unitree Robotics.
“Our focus is not on replacing humans but enhancing human capability by automating hazardous or repetitive tasks,” Orbach said. “Our AI vision systems are built to support safety, reliability, and real-world intelligence.”
With over 3,000 customers globally, more than 80 patents, and a vast network of distributors and partners, RealSense is well-equipped to lead in a rapidly expanding market. Currently, RealSense technology is embedded in over 60% of the world’s AMRs and humanoid robots.
To meet this rising demand, RealSense plans to grow its global workforce, with a focus on hiring AI engineers, robotics experts, and software developers to accelerate product innovation.
