Aerchain has raised $13 million in a Series A funding round led by Pavestone VC, with participation from existing investor Indiamart as well as other investors.

The artificial intelligence (AI)-based enterprise procurement platform will use the fresh capital to expand globally and develop further AI capabilities on its platform.

The Bengaluru-based company was founded by Himavanth Jasti and Harsha Kadimisetty in 2019. Aerchain helps businesses automate procurement workflows through its 'Spend Operating System', which can orchestrate, execute and provide advice across the full intake-to-pay lifecycle.

The platform is built on a multi-agent AI architecture that helps procurement teams to move away from low-value operational tasks, and reactive workflows such as email chains, Excel sheets and ERP workarounds, to optimise efficiency.

The AI software is trained on each customer's data and allows enterprises to manage conversational intake, SOW generation, vendor discovery and management, RFQ and auction automation, contract management, invoice processing and payment tracking.

"AI is the capability, but the real unlock is what it enables: procurement teams that spend their time on strategy instead of administration. We’ve built a system where agents handle the operational complexity in the background and surface only the decisions that need human judgment. The goal is outcome-driven procurement at enterprise scale," said Himavanth Jasti, CTO and cofounder, Aerchain.

It had previously raised $3 million in a pre-series A funding from Indiamart and Season Two Ventures in September 2021.
