Anthropic acquires team behind Humanloop

Humanloop, which was founded in 2020 as a University College London spinout, has raised $7.91 million in seed funding across two rounds.

AI startup Anthropic has acquired the team of enterprise-grade AI evaluation platform Humanloop.

"...as the pace of AI progress accelerates, we think Anthropic is the ideal home to amplify our impact," said Humanloop in a statement.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. It also did not clarify if the entire Humanloop team is joining Anthropic.

The TechCrunch reported that Anthropic has acquired the co-founders and most of the team behind Humanloop.

Humanloop was founded in 2020 as a University College London spinout. Its co-founders are Raza Habib, Jordan Burgess and Peter Hayes.

Humanloop has raised $7.91 million in seed funding across two rounds led by YC and Index Ventures, per Pitchbook.

Anthropic, which was founded in 2021 by a group of former OpenAI employees, have become one of the highest valued AI startups.

The startup had last raised $3.5 billion at a $61.5 billion post-money valuation in March.

Last month, the Bloomberg reported that Anthropic is close to raising a fresh funding round of $3-$5 billion at a valuation of $170 billion.
