Team Head&Tale
Ke Yang, who was leading Apple's efforts to develop a ChatGPT-like AI-driven web search, is leaving to join Meta, the Bloomberg reported.
This comes just weeks after Yang was appointed head of a team called Answers, Knowledge and Information, or AKI, the reports said.
The team was central to Apple's revamp of its voice assistant Siri.
Yang had joined Apple in June 2019, as per his LinkedIn profile. He previously worked at Houzz and Google.
Meta has been poaching AI talent from rivals since June to beef up its superintelligence team.
Earlier this month, Andrew Tulloch, co-founder of Thinking Machines Lab, also left to join Meta, the Wall Street journal reported.
Thinking Machines Lab was launched by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati. The startup had raised $2 billion in a seed funding round earlier in July led by Andreessen Horowitz at a valuation of $12 billion even before its product was made public.
