Bain & Company said it has made a strategic partnership with Andrew Ng, the founder of Google Brain deep learning project, and his advisory firm, AI Aspire.
The partnership aims to help companies unlock scalable value from artificial intelligence, said Bain & Company in a statement.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Andrew Ng—one of the foremost minds in AI—to our team, joining forces with our 1,500 AI and digital practitioners to help clients move from experimentation to enterprise-wide impact, "said Chuck Whitten, senior partner and global head of Bain & Company’s digital capabilities.
The statement noted that Bain has seen a sharp rise in clients' demand for AI-enabled solutions across sectors.
Tech- and AI-enabled revenue now comprises around 30% of the firm’s business, with expectations to grow to 50% in the coming years, it added.
“Companies that lack a thoughtful, strategic approach to AI risk falling far behind their competitors. This partnership is about equipping organizations to lead—not follow," said Ng.
Ng is one of the foremost names in the AI space. Apart from Google Brain, he also co-founded Coursera. He became Baidu's chief scientist in 2014. He left Baidu in 2017 to launch a slew of AI ventures including epLearning.ai course and Landing AI.
In 2018, he had also launched his first AI Fund of $175 million that had Greylock Partners, New Enterprise Associates, Sequoia Capital and SoftBank Group as its initial backers. Earlier in May this year, Ng closed his second AI Fund, raising around $190 million.
