German semiconductor company Infineon Technologies will acquire Bengaluru-based C2i Semiconductors, a startup that develops power-management technology for AI data centres.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary conditions.
The acquisition comes just months after C2i Semiconductors raised Series A funding led by venture capital firm Peak XV Partners.
Founded by Ram Anant, C2i is building technology to address the growing power requirements of AI infrastructure as increasingly powerful processors require more efficient and responsive power delivery.
For Infineon, the acquisition will add C2i's engineering capabilities to its existing portfolio of power semiconductors and strengthen its R&D presence in India.
"C2i Semiconductors brings exceptional expertise in software-defined power management and system-level power architectures, backed by a proven highly experienced engineering team. With this acquisition, we will accelerate innovation in power delivery solutions for AI data centres," said Adam White, President of Infineon's Power Systems.
Infineon currently has around 2,800 employees in the country and said the acquisition will help create a centre of excellence for digital power technologies in India.
