IIT-Bombay-incubated space-tech startup InspeCity has raised Rs 100 crore ($10.5 million) in a pre-Series A funding round co-led by Speciale Invest and investor Ashish Kacholia.

The round also saw participation from Antler Elevate, Antler India, Manish Gandhi and Shastra VC.

The Mumbai-based startup will deploy the fresh capital towards flight qualification of its technologies and expanding its commercial operations. Over the next 12-18 months, InspeCity plans to undertake four in-orbit missions as part of its RIG-X, VEDA-X and SAMA-X roadmap.

Founded in 2022 by Arindrajit Chowdhury, InspeCity is developing technologies for in-space servicing, assembly and manufacturing (ISAM). Its focus is on extending satellite lifespans, reducing space debris and enabling autonomous operations in orbit. The startup is building its VEDA platform along with technologies covering propulsion, satellite tracking, robotic manipulation, docking and in-orbit refuelling.

InspeCity said the new funding will help it move its technologies through flight qualification and scale its commercial activities as it progresses towards multiple in-orbit missions.

The startup previously raised $5.6 million (around Rs 46 crore) in a seed round in May 2025, led by Ashish Kacholia with participation from Speciale Invest, Shastra VC, Antler India, DeVC, MGF-Kavachh and Anicut Capital. Before that, it had secured $1.5 million in a pre-seed round led by Speciale Invest and other investors.

The Indian space-tech ecosystem has continued to attract significant venture investments.

Skyroot Aerospace became India's first space-tech unicorn after raising $60 million in May 2026, pushing its valuation to $1.1 billion.

Digantara raised $50 million in a Series B round in December 2025, while Agnikul Cosmos raised Rs 150 crore in Series C funding in November 2025.
