Karta AI, a multi-intent agentic voice AI platform for inbound customer operations across financial services, has raised $3 million in a seed funding round led by PeerCapital and Cedar Hill Capital.
The round also saw participation from WYSER, CDM Capital and Seedstars.
The Bengaluru-based startup will use the fresh capital to strengthen its agentic voice AI technology, expand its capabilities and help financial institutions automate complex customer interactions.
Founded in 2024 by Vijaypal Singh and Abhishek Kushwaha, Karta AI develops voice AI agents for banks, lenders, fintech companies and insurers. Its platform understands customer context, handles multiple requests in a single conversation and takes action across enterprise systems. The company said it handles around 2 million conversations monthly across more than 25 languages.
The company said its technology aims to go beyond answering customer queries by resolving complex inbound calls and learning from interactions to improve decision-making.
"Most voice AI companies we met are building for outbound calls: collections, reminders, lead qualification," noted Sahil Anand, managing partner, Cedar Hill Capital, "There, the agent starts the conversation, and the intent is already known. Inbound is a much harder problem. The customer calls in with something you can’t predict, often more than one thing, and the agent has to work out what they need and then actually resolve it," he added.
Earlier in August, Anand had told The Head and Tale that it was looking to make its next bet in a startup operating in the voice AI space.
The funding comes amid growing investor interest in voice AI startups. Recent fundraises in the segment include Desible.ai’s Rs 32 crore seed-plus round, Navana.ai’s Rs 40 crore Series A round and Rezolv’s $12.5 million Series A round.
