Meta has partnered with AI-powered image and video generation startup Midjourney to license its technology, Alexandr Wang, Chief AI Officer, Meta, posted on Threads.

"This technical collaboration between our research teams is part of our effort to team up with the best companies in the industry whose work and expertise complements our own," said Wang, who was previously CEO and co-founder of Scale AI, in which Meta acquired a significant minority stake in June this year.

Following the deal with Scale AI and getting Wang to lead its superintelligence unit, Meta went on an aggressive hiring spree to bolster its AI ambitions.

"To ensure Meta is able to deliver the best possible products for people it will require taking an all-of-the-above approach. This means world-class talent, ambitious compute roadmap, and working with the best players across the industry," added Wang.

Last week, Wang also posted on X saying that Meta is investing more and more into its Meta Superintelligence Labs. "Any reporting to the contrary of that is clearly mistaken," he added.
