OpenAI and Infosys partner to scale AI across enterprises

OpenAI has entered into a partnership with Infosys to embed its AI tools including the coding assistant Codex into the Indian IT firm's Topaz AI platform.
The collaboration is aimed at helping enterprise clients modernise software development, streamline workflows, and deploy AI at scale, with an initial focus on legacy system upgrades, software engineering, and DevOps.
For Infosys, the tie-up comes as the Indian IT sector grapples with the disruptive pace of AI advancements. Its shares have shed over 22% this year, weighed down by sluggish client spending, concerns that generative AI could eat into conventional outsourcing revenue, and broader market anxiety. Yet the company has been aggressively building its AI business. In February 2026, Infosys announced that AI-linked services accounted for 5.5% of its total revenue in the quarter ended December 31, 2025.
For OpenAI, the deal opens a direct route into large enterprises through Infosys' delivery network spanning more than 60 countries. The goal, both companies say, is to help businesses move beyond small-scale AI experiments toward full deployment.
The partnership is part of OpenAI's wider push through Codex Labs, which is an initiative where its engineers work hands-on with clients to roll out its tools. Other firms in that program include Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, TCS, and PwC. Codex currently counts more than 4 million weekly active users.
The partnership also mirrors a growing pattern where AI companies are pairing with global IT services firms to accelerate enterprise adoption. OpenAI has partnered with other Indian IT firms, including HCLTech and TCS, while Infosys has a separate collaboration with Anthropic.
