OpenAI said it is building an AI-powered hiring platform called OpenAI Jobs Platform.

The move is significant as the hiring platform could directly take on Microsoft's LinkedIn. Microsoft is also an investor in the Sam Altman-led OpenAI and the two have conflicted in the past over common products.

In a blogpost, Fidji Simo, CEO of Applications, OpenAI, said that its hiring platform will use AI to help find the perfect matches between what companies need and what workers can offer.

Simo added that the hiring platform will have knowledgeable, experienced candidates at every level, and opportunities for anyone looking to put their skills to use.

"Importantly, the jobs platform won’t just be a way for big companies to attract more talent. It will have a track dedicated to helping local businesses compete, and local governments find the AI talent they need to better serve their constituents," explained Simo.

Simo also said that OpenAI will start offering OpenAI Certifications for different levels of AI fluency. Earlier this year, the AI startup had OpenAI Academy and the academy will be expanded to offer the certifications.

"OpenAI is committing to certifying 10 million Americans by 2030," the blogpost added.
