Technology giant Oracle has announced significant expansion plans for Europe, committing $3 billion over the coming five years to strengthen its artificial intelligence and cloud computing offerings in Germany and the Netherlands.
Of the total investment, $2 billion will be directed towards Germany and $1 billion allocated to the Netherlands.
Oracle expects its capital spending to cross $25 billion in fiscal 2026, with the majority of the expenditure committed to data-center infrastructure, including for AI.
Notably, in a filing last month Oracle had said that it has won a deal from a undisclosed client that is expected to generate over $30 billion in annual revenue beginning fiscal year 2028.
Oracle's substantial commitment reflects the broader technology industry trend of massive infrastructure investments following the widespread adoption of generative AI tools like OpenAI's ChatGPT.
In 2024, another tech giant Amazon said that it would invest 10 billion euros in Germany.
