AI startup Perplexity's CEO Aravind Srinivas said it has acquired California-based Invisible that has deep expertise in scalable infrastructure for AI agents.

The Invisible team will help in scaling Perplexity's recently launched product Comet, Srinivas said in an X post.

Comet, an AI-powered web browser, is expected to further disrupt the way we use the internet and challenge Google Search as the primary source of information to find information online.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Invisible was founded by Minh Pham and JJ Ford in 2023. The duo had earlier worked at Uber. Later when Uber's CEO Travis Kalanick was ousted in 2017 they followed him to join his new venture CloudKitchens.

Last year, Perplexity acquired a small Seattle-based startup called Carbon which specializes in connecting AI systems to external data sources.

In 2023, Perplexity had bought Spellwise, an AI-powered keyboard writer for iOS.
