Aspora ropes in former Paytm Money CEO Varun Sridhar to head wealth & lending division

Sridhar earlier held leadership roles at BNP Paribas, Citibank and Deutsche Bank.

Aspora, a cross-border fintech platform previously operating as Vance, has appointed Varun Sridhar on board to head its wealth management and lending division as CEO.

In his new role. Sridhar will focus on scaling Aspora's wealth management and lending offerings, and expanding its cross-border banking solutions in global markets, Aspora said in a LinkedIn post.

Prior to this appointment, Sridhar was CEO of Paytm Money and Paytm Services. Earlier, he held leadership roles at BNP Paribas, Citibank and Deutsche Bank.

"Varun's experience in scaling fintech platforms and his deep understanding of cross-border financial needs make him an invaluable addition to our leadership team. As we continue expanding beyond the UK, UAE, and US markets, his expertise will be instrumental in delivering the banking infrastructure our community deserves," said Parth Garg, founder, Aspora.

Earlier in July, Aspora had raised $53 million as part of its Series B funding round co-led by venture capital firm Sequoia Capital and Greylock Partners.
