AxiTrust has raised Rs 23.5 crore in its seed funding round led by General Catalyst.
The funding round also saw participation from Atrium Angels, YAN Network, Supermorpheous, and other angel investors.
The Gurugram-based startup will use the fresh capital to build digital infrastructure that it says will power the large-scale adoption of surety bonds across India's banking, insurance, and procurement ecosystem.
AxiTrust was founded by Aditya Tulsian (CEO), Rajeev Chari (COO), and Mukund Daga (CRO) in 2024. The founding team brings nearly a decade of experience in building for the Indian fintech ecosystem.
AxiTrust is a technology-driven platform building the digital infrastructure for surety bonds in India. The company enables financial ecosystem stakeholders to transition from traditional bank guarantees to digital, insurance-backed solutions that unlock liquidity and strengthen business trust. By replacing collateral-heavy guarantees with insurance-backed alternatives, surety bonds can free up working capital for MSMEs. The platform serves as the infrastructure enabler connecting insurers, financial institutions, and government procurement platforms for seamless issuance, underwriting, and management of surety bonds.
"The story of India's MSME financing reform is now about execution," said Aditya Tulsian, CEO and co-founder, AxiTrust. "For decades, access to growth capital has been held back by the rigidity of collateral. Surety bonds mark a paradigm shift, enabling liquidity to flow freely through the economy. This is about building a new trust architecture for India's financial system, one that expands opportunities for MSMEs to increase participation across Government and private supply chains."
Aakanksha Sharma, principal at General Catalyst, said, "With strong policy tailwinds, digital readiness, and a team that deeply understands MSME financing, we believe AxiTrust is well-positioned to build the foundation for a new financial category."
