Centricity raises Series A funding led by SMBC Asia Rising Fund

Wealth management startup Centricity has raised Rs 280 crore in its Series A funding round led by SMBC Asia Rising Fund.

The funding round also saw participation from existing investors including Lightspeed India Partners, Burman Family Office, RAAY Investments (Amit Patni Family Office), Kuldeep Rathi Family Office, Stride Ventures, Innoven Capital, and several other returning backers.

The fresh capital will be used to strengthen Centricity's proprietary technology platform, expand its B2B2C wealth distribution business, scale its private wealth and NRI-focused operations, and deepen its presence in domestic and international markets. The company also plans to hire additional private bankers and relationship managers to support growth.

Founded in 2022 by Manu Awasthy and former private banking professionals, Centricity is a technology-driven wealth management platform serving financial advisors, family offices, HNIs, and NRIs. The company offers investment products across mutual funds, insurance, bonds, PMS, AIFs, broking, and global investment solutions.

Commenting on the fundraise, founder and CEO Manu Awasthy said the investment validates Centricity's vision and execution, adding that SMBC's backing brings strategic banking expertise and long-term support beyond capital.

Rajeev Kannan, senior managing executive officer and head of India division at SMBC, said India's wealth management sector is undergoing a structural transformation and that Centricity has built a differentiated platform combining technology with deep industry expertise.

Prior to this round, Centricity had raised $4 million in a pre-seed funding round in 2022 and followed it up with an $18 million seed round in 2024.
