Info Edge-backed Tractor Junction receives RBI nod for NBFC arm
04 Aug 2026, 11:26 AMThe NBFC arm, Dhanrise Finance, is scheduled to commence lending operations in October 2026.
Rural auto-fintech platform Tractor Junction has secured approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to operate a non-banking financial company (NBFC) through its wholly owned subsidiary, Dhanrise Finance Pvt Ltd.
The company said Dhanrise has been granted a Type-II NBFC-ND-ICC licence and is scheduled to commence lending operations in October 2026. The initial rollout will cover Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, followed by expansion into Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Uttar Pradesh.
Dhanrise will primarily cater to financing requirements for pre-owned tractors and rural vehicles, a segment that Tractor Junction estimates faces a credit shortfall of around Rs 50,000 crore. The company aims to disburse Rs 100 crore in loans during its first two years of operations, with average ticket sizes ranging between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 5 lakh.
To streamline lending, Dhanrise plans to deploy AI-powered valuation tools, computer vision-based vehicle assessments, satellite imagery, and a 120-point inspection framework. These technologies are expected to reduce loan approval timelines from the current 8–10 days to under 24 hours.
The lending business will also leverage Tractor Junction’s existing ecosystem, which includes over 6 crore annual users, a retail presence across 100 cities in six states, and its fintech platform FINJ that facilitates nearly Rs 350 crore worth of rural vehicle loans every month through a network of more than 30,000 channel partners.
In November 2025, the company raised Rs 200 crore in a Series A funding round led by Astanor, with participation from Info Edge and Omnivore.
