Mirae Asset Venture India, backer of startups such as Ola, Eternal (formerly Zomato), Shadowfax, Bigbasket and Dhan, has appointed Puneet Kumar as its CEO.
Prior to this appointment, Kumar was managing director of Steadview Capital, which invested in startups such as Eternal, Nykaa and Freshworks during his tenure.
"Excited to share that I’ve joined as CEO of Mirae Asset Venture Investments (India) to lead the investment team and help scale the business," said Kumar in an X post.
He added that Mirae Asset Venture India, which is the private investment arm of South Korea's Mirae Asset Financial Group, is also looking to scale its team.
Earlier, Kumar was a vice president at homegrown venture capital firm Nexus Venture Partners.
Mirae Asset Venture India was earlier led by Ashish Dave, who left the investment firm in 2025.
Last year, other venture capital firms such as Peak XV Partners also saw a churn as managing directors Shailesh Lakhani, Abheek Anand and Harshjit Sethi left. Just last month, Kabir Narang, a founding general partner at B Capital that has invested in several Indian startups, left the global venture capital firm.
