NABVENTURES, the venture capital arm of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), has raised Rs 450 crore in commitments to mark the first close of its second fund.

The fund is targeting a total corpus of Rs 1,500 crore, including a green-shoe option, with NABARD as its anchor investor.

NABVENTURES Fund II will invest in early- and growth-stage businesses operating in agriculture, food, agribusiness and rural markets. Its investment focus spans agritech, rural fintech, climate-smart technologies, supply chain and logistics, and other solutions addressing challenges across the agricultural ecosystem.

The fund will back businesses using technology and scalable models to improve farm productivity, strengthen supply chains and expand opportunities for rural enterprises. It will also support solutions focused on sustainability, climate resilience, financial inclusion and livelihood generation.

Beyond funding, NABVENTURES plans to draw on NABARD’s rural network and sector expertise to help portfolio companies scale their businesses and access new markets.

The second fund builds on the firm's previous investments, which have supported 23 enterprises collectively including an omnichannel fresh meat and seafood brand TenderCuts and farm-to-consumer egg brand Eggoz.
