Fintech firm Paytm, operated by One97 Communications, reported a 28.5% year-on-year jump in revenue from operations to Rs 2,648 crore in Q2 FY27 from Rs 2,061 crore in the corresponding July-September quarter in the previous financial year.
Paytm’s net profit surged 10.7 times to Rs 225 crore in Q2 FY27 from Rs 21 crore in the year-ago period, according to a stock exchange filing.

The company’s total expenses rose to Rs 2,531 crore during the quarter from Rs 2,062 crore in Q2 FY26.
Employee benefit expenses increased over 14% year-on-year to Rs 759 crore in Q2 FY27.
Payment services remained its largest revenue contributor, generating Rs 1,434 crore during the quarter, followed by financial services distribution at Rs 912 crore and marketing services at Rs 287 crore.
Paytm also said that there will be a "potential upside" of merchant discount rate (MDR), which is expected to be implemented after Diwali after the government's earlier plans to bring it into effect from October 15.
Earlier this month, The Head and Tale exclusively reported that the implementation of the MDR was likely to be deferred to January as the government weighed concerns over its timing ahead of the festive season.
Merchants, particularly small traders and retailers who rely heavily on UPI for everyday sales, have been vocal in their opposition ever since the reintroduction of MDR on the unified payments (UPI) has been announced.
