Pine Labs partners with Philippines’ GCash for Business

Indian payments major Pine Labs has made a strategic partnership with GCash for Business to support digital payment capabilities for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippines.
Under the deal, merchants using GCash will gain access to instalment plans, loyalty rewards, and cashback features alongside the ability to accept both card and QR-based payments through Pine Labs' point-of-sale (PoS) technology, a statement said.
The move is aimed at helping the growing number of MSMEs in the Philippines on the GCash platform modernize how they collect payments and serve customers. GCash already offers tools like PocketPay, which turns any smartphone into a payment terminal, and SoundPay, which gives audio confirmation of transactions.
Paul Albano, head of GCash for Business, said the collaboration gives merchants more payment flexibility and added perks that can help them grow and attract more customers.
Pine Labs' Southeast Asia business chief Dheeraj Chowdhry added that the integration is designed to speed up merchant onboarding while delivering better payment experiences on the ground.
With a locally incorporated entity, Pine Labs already has a presence in the Philippines. The Indian fintech firm also powers gift card programs in the Philippines for retail chain SM Retail.
