Raise Financial’s Pluto Insurance names Abhishek Singh as CEO

Raise Financial Services’ insurance broking arm Pluto Insurance has appointed insurance industry veteran Abhishek Singh as its chief executive officer.
Singh brings nearly 23 years of experience across insurance distribution, broking, bancassurance and partnerships. Before joining Pluto, he was associated with Upstox’s insurance business and spent more than a decade at OneInsure.
Earlier, he has also held leadership roles at Edelweiss Life Insurance and PNB MetLife.
Announcing his move on LinkedIn, Singh said he was joining Pluto at a time when the insurance industry continues to grapple with issues such as complex products, customer support and claims servicing. He said Pluto aims to use technology and artificial intelligence to simplify the insurance journey and make the experience more customer-centric.
Raise, which is also the parent of stockbroking platform Dhan, entered the insurance broking business earlier this year after acquiring GreenLife Insurance Broking and subsequently rebranding it as Pluto Insurance.
Singh will work alongside Pluto’s leadership team, which includes Ranjeet Walunj, chief product and technology officer. The company is looking to build a tech-led insurance platform focused on simplifying the buying journey, reducing sales-led clutter and improving claims support.
Raise is also planning to invest Rs 100 crore in the insurance business as it looks to expand its presence in the insurance distribution market.
