Indian fintech major Razorpay has partnered with American artificial intelligence (AI) company Replit to enable local payment support for developers building on the platform in India.
Under the partnership, Indian users will be able to pay in rupees using UPI and cards, allowing developers to seamlessly monetise their AI-built applications, said Razorpay in a statement.
"At Razorpay, our focus is on building the infrastructure that lets innovation turn into real businesses," said Harshil Mathur, CEO and co-founder, Razorpay, in the statement.
"With Replit, we’re bringing monetisation directly into the creation process – so that builders can go from an idea to a paid product, instantly and compliantly," added Mathur.
Amjad Masad, CEO and founder, Replit, noted that India is now its second-largest country in terms of number of builders.
Last year, Razorpay had tied up with OpenAI and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) for agentic AI payments.
