RBI appoints Gunveer Singh as new executive director

The Reserve Bank of India has appointed Gunveer Singh as its new Executive Director. Previously, he was serving as chief general manager-in-charge of the Department of Payment and Settlement Systems.
Singh brings more than three decades of experience at the central bank, where he has handled areas including payment and settlement systems, banking supervision, risk monitoring and government banking operations.
He has also worked as a payment systems specialist with the Central Bank of Oman.
In his new role as Executive Director, Singh will oversee the Department of Payment and Settlement Systems. He is a Chartered Accountant as well as a Cost and Works Accountant.
