Sajja Chowdary takes charge as Policybazaar Insurance Brokers CEO after Tarun Mathur's exit

Sajja Praveen Chowdary has been appointed as the chief executive officer and principal officer of Policybazaar Insurance Brokers, a wholly owned subsidiary of PB Fintech.
Chowdary will replace Tarun Mathur, who has resigned citing personal commitments. His resignation took effect on April 7, according to a regulatory filing by the company.
It added that Chowdary's appointment has been approved by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India.
Chowdary is a long-serving PB Fintech hand, having joined the company in 2011. Prior to this appointment, headed Policybazaar for Business, which caters to corporate and SME insurance as well as reinsurance.
Over his tenure, he has handled business management, product, and technology functions, and was instrumental in scaling retail insurance verticals including motor and term life insurance. He brings over 17 years of experience in the e-commerce space and holds a postgraduate degree in marketing from IMT Ghaziabad and a BTech in electronics and communications.
Mathur spent over 18 years at Policybazaar, holding several senior roles including co-founder and chief business officer. During his tenure, he led verticals spanning analytics, revenue management, life insurance, and strategic initiatives before stepping down from the top role.
