Fintech company slice said it has opened its second technology-driven physical branch in Gurugram, expanding its UPI-first banking model to North India.
The bank offers full UPI integration across services -- UPI-enabled ATMs for cash deposits and withdrawals, instant paperless account opening, and self-service kiosks to explore and access products, said slice in a statement.
The branch in Gurugram follows the launch of its first such facility in Bengaluru earlier this year.
According to Satish Kumar Kalra, MD & CEO of slice, this expansion represents a significant milestone in creating digitally-native banking infrastructure.
"We're advancing the Digital India initiative by eliminating banking complexities and making financial services more accessible to everyone," added Kalra.
Slice, founded in 2016 by Rajan Bajaj, started as a fintech offering credit cards for young professionals and later expanded into full-stack banking after merging with North East Small Finance Bank. The merger was completed last year.
Over the years, the company has raised significant funding from investors such as Tiger Global, Insight Partners, Moore Strategic Ventures, and GMO Venture Partners, securing over $340 million across multiple rounds.
The company had entered the famed unicorn club of startup after it raised $220 million in a Series B funding round led by Tiger Global and Insight Partners in 2021.
