Singapore-based cross-border payments infrastructure company Tazapay plans to expand its Bengaluru team to more than 150 employees over the next 18 months as it looks to strengthen its technology, product and treasury capabilities in India.
The company has opened an 11,000 sq ft Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Koramangala, Bengaluru, which currently houses around 60 employees. The facility will serve as a global capability hub, with hiring focused on engineering, product and treasury operations, a statement said.
It added that hiring will focus on engineering, product and treasury operations as it expands the facility into a key global capability hub.
The Bengaluru team will work on the infrastructure supporting cross-border transactions, including payment routing, compliance checks, funding and settlement, and reconciliation. The company is also developing infrastructure for newer use cases such as agentic payments, while using AI to support operations under human oversight and governance.
Tazapay currently serves more than 1,000 enterprises and fintech companies across 30 countries. Its platform enables businesses to collect, hold, convert and transfer funds internationally, with access to local payment methods in more than 80 countries, virtual accounts in over 40 currencies and payouts in more than 100 currencies.
The Bengaluru expansion adds to Tazapay’s existing footprint in India. The company has operated an engineering centre in Chennai since 2020, while its payments and compliance operations are based in Delhi. Bengaluru will bring engineering, product and treasury teams together, complementing the technology capabilities already established in Chennai.
Earlier in March, Tazapay’s raised $36 million Series B round led by Circle Ventures and included participation from CMT Digital, Coinbase Ventures, Peak XV Partners, Ripple, Norinchukin Capital, GMO Venture Partners, January Capital, ARC180 and RTP Global.
