Users can now check credit score on BHIM app

NPCI BHIM Services Ltd, in partnership with TransUnion CIBIL, will give BHIM app users access to their credit scores.

TransUnion CIBIL has teamed up with NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL) to bring credit score access directly inside the BHIM payments app.

Users can now view their CIBIL Score and Credit Information Report without switching platforms. The feature works on a consent-first basis, where credit bureau data is only pulled after the user explicitly agrees, keeping the process transparent and user-controlled.

BHIM already supports over 15 Indian languages and serves users across urban and rural areas, offering tools like expense splitting, family mode, and spending analytics. Adding the CIBIL Score to this mix means users can go beyond just sending and receiving money.

"With the addition of the CIBIL Score, BHIM takes this a step further by helping users not just transact but also stay informed about their credit profile," the organization stated.

Lalitha Nataraj, MD and CEO, NPCI BHIM Services Ltd, said, “BHIM Payments App has been built with a clear focus on simplicity and user control. Through our collaboration with TransUnion CIBIL, we are extending this approach to credit awareness, enabling users to access their CIBIL Score easily within the BHIM App. This is a step towards helping users make more informed financial decisions as part of their everyday journeys."

The feature is live on BHIM Payments App version 4.0.19 and above.
