As part of the acquisition, StackAI founders Tony Rosinol and Bernard Aceituno will join Asana.

Work management platform Asana has acquired no-code AI automation startup StackAI, as the company sharpens its focus on becoming an AI-first workplace platform.

As part of the acquisition, StackAI founders Tony Rosinol and Bernard Aceituno will join Asana, a statement said.

The deal value was pegged at around $75 million, as per media reports.

"This acquisition accelerates our roadmap and marks the next phase of human-agent work," said Dan Rogers, CEO of Asana.

StackAI develops AI-powered workflow automation systems that can connect with enterprise tools such as Salesforce, Slack, and Google Workspace. The startup, which emerged from Y Combinator’s Winter 2023 batch, has been competing with players like Zapier as well as AI companies including OpenAI and Anthropic.

Over the past few years, Asana has expanded beyond project management into AI-driven products, including AI Studio and AI Teammates. The company believes its advantage lies in its deep integration with workplace systems, enabling AI tools to access richer organizational context and workflow data.

Last year, Asana co-founder Dustin Moskovitz had stepped down as CEO to move into a chair role.
