Spacetech startup Cosmoserve Space has raised $6 million in a seed funding round led by Japan-based Rebright Partners.

The round also saw participation from Aranya Holdings and Naandi Ventures, while existing investors AUM Ventures and Shakti VC also invested in the startup.

The startup plans to use the fresh capital to advance its space debris removal technology, support two upcoming missions and strengthen operations at its newly inaugurated Hyderabad facility, Base 1.

Founded in 2025 by Chiranjeevi Phanindra, Cosmoserve Space is developing technology to remove defunct satellites and orbital debris using robotic capture systems. Its broader focus also includes satellite servicing, in-orbit repairs and refuelling.

In July 2026, Cosmoserve flew its first payload, Mission Embrace, aboard Skyroot Aerospace's Vikram-1 rocket. However, its robotic capture petals did not deploy as planned. The mission provided the company with data for further technology development.

Before this round, Cosmoserve raised $3.17 million in a pre-seed funding round in September 2025, led by Alan Rutledge, with participation from AUM Ventures and Shakti VC. With the latest investment, its total funding has crossed $9 million.

Over the past months, India's spacetech startups have attracted investor interest, with Skyroot Aerospace raising $60 million in May 2026 in a funding round co-led by Sherpalo Ventures and GIC. This funding round made Skyroot India's first space tech unicorn.

In September, Pixxel raised $100 million in a Series C funding round in September 2026, co-led by Temasek and Seraphim Space.

Bellatrix Aerospace secured $20 million in March 2026 led by Cactus Partners, SatLeo Labs raised seed funding in April 2026 led by Unicorn India Ventures, and OXG Space raised Rs 17 crore in October 2026 led by AUM Ventures.
