Lane bags pre-seed funding led by Kae Capital

Driving education and mobility startup Lane has raised Rs 8.5 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Kae Capital.
The funding round also saw participation from DeVC, Antler India, Panthera Peak, and a group of angel investors.
The startup plans to use the fresh capital to expand its instructor network across Bengaluru and other Tier-I cities, accelerate the development of its proprietary sensor-based driving behaviour technology, and strengthen its car ownership ecosystem, including vehicle purchase and RTO-related services.
The Bengaluru-based startup was founded in 2025 by Samiksha Agarwal, who previously worked across venture capital and finance roles before launching Lane. The company operates a tech-enabled platform that offers structured driving lessons, licensing support, and mobility services. It is also developing an AI-powered driver intelligence platform that converts driving behaviour into actionable data for consumers, insurers, automakers, and policymakers.
Speaking on the development, Samiksha Agarwal, founder of Lane, said that the company aims to build confident and competent drivers rather than simply helping people obtain licences. She added that Lane views driving as a lifelong skill and intends to build long-term relationships with customers through education and vehicle ownership services.
Sunita Viswanathan, partner at Kae Capital, said the firm was attracted by both the size of the market opportunity and the company's ability to become a long-term mobility platform beginning with driver education.
