Physical AI startup Mowito has raised $3 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Version One Ventures.
The round also saw participation from All In Capital, Unisol, iSeed, and angel investors including Soumith Chintala, Adarsh Kulkarni, Ashish Kulkarni, and Vaibhav Domkundwar of Better Capital.
The Bengaluru-based startup will use the fresh capital to expand into the United States, strengthen its engineering and go-to-market teams, and scale deployments across automotive and electronics manufacturers, the company said in a press release.
Mowito was co-founded in 2024 by Puru Rastogi (CEO, ex-Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute and Near Earth Autonomy), Adityanag Nagesh (CBO, ex-Sensara and IBM), and Safar V (CTO, IIT-Madras alumnus).
The startup builds Physical AI foundation models for industrial robot arms, enabling them to learn manufacturing tasks from demonstrations instead of traditional programming. Its software is already deployed at a Fortune 500 automotive company, supporting high-precision tasks in automotive and electronics manufacturing.
Mowito has described its mission as scaling "Physical AI" globally, with the round bringing in investors and advisors from across the robotics and AI ecosystem. The startup had previously raised $540,000 in an angel funding round.
