SpaceXAI launches Grok 4.5

SpaceXAI on Wednesday introduced Grok 4.5, describing it as its most advanced artificial intelligence model so far, built specifically for software development and autonomous AI-driven tasks.
The company said the model was trained using tens of thousands of Nvidia GB300 GPUs and developed with a strong emphasis on high-quality datasets, including extensive filtering, deduplication, and data-quality evaluation processes.
Grok 4.5 has been integrated into SpaceXAI’s coding assistant, Grok Build, and is available through the Cursor coding platform as well as the company’s developer portal via API access. Last month, SpaceX said it would acquire Anysphere, the maker of Cursor, in an all-stock transaction valued at $60 billion, strengthening its position in the fast-growing enterprise AI software segment.
According to SpaceXAI, Grok 4.5 will reach European Union users in mid-July. The model is priced at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said the model delivers performance comparable to Anthropic’s Opus series while offering faster responses, improved token efficiency, and lower operating costs.
The release comes after Musk’s AI venture xAI was folded into SpaceXAI earlier this year, part of a broader effort to consolidate the company’s AI operations under a single brand.
The launch also arrives just ahead of OpenAI’s planned rollout of GPT-5.6 on Thursday, after the company postponed its release last month following requests from US authorities to review potential national security risks associated with advanced AI systems.
