Food delivery and quick commerce company Eternal, formerly known as Zomato, saw major bulk transactions on August 31, as BNP Paribas and a Millennium Management-linked entity sold shares worth a combined Rs 3,265 crore.
As per NSE data showed that BNP Paribas Financial Markets offloaded 5.09 crore Eternal shares at Rs 327.93 apiece, translating into a transaction value of nearly Rs 1,671 crore. Integrated Core Strategies (Asia), an affiliate of Millennium Management, sold another 4.86 crore shares at Rs 327.90 each, valued at around Rs 1,594 crore.
Together, the two transactions covered close to 10 crore Eternal shares. The identities of the buyers were not disclosed. On the other hand, Integrated Core Strategies (Asia) Pte. Ltd. and BNP Paribas also bought small quantities of Eternal shares worth Rs 35.4 lakh and Rs 2.06 crore, respectively.
The latest stake sale comes about a year after Antfin, an affiliate of Alibaba, made a major exit from Eternal. In August 2025, Antfin sold shares worth Rs 4,772 crore, following another Rs 2,827 crore stake sale in March 2025.
The latest deal is part of a broader increase in large block and bulk transactions involving Indian technology companies. Lenskart, Paytm and Meesho have also seen substantial stake sales in recent months, as institutional investors and early backers look to trim holdings and book profits in listed startups.
