The shares were acquired by a range of institutional investors, including Societe Generale - ODI and Motilal Oswal Large and Midcap Fund.
ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company was the largest buyer in the transaction, acquiring 1.03 crore shares worth nearly Rs 160 crore.
The latest stake sale comes about a year after Antfin, an affiliate of Alibaba, made a major exit from Eternal.
The latest deal comes days after another large block transaction on August 28, when nearly 2.95 crore Lenskart shares worth Rs 1,857 crore changed hands at Rs 630 apiece.
The shares were picked up by a clutch of institutional investors, including Integrated Core Strategies (Asia), Singularity Large Value Fund III and F3 Advisors.
Paytm clarified that it is not involved in the proposed transaction and the founder’s direct shareholding in Paytm will remain unchanged following the block deal.
The shares were acquired by a mix of domestic mutual funds, insurance firms and global institutional investors.
The stake sale attracted participation from several domestic and international institutional investors, with Axis Mutual Fund and Fidelity among the key buyers.
The latest sale comes just days after Actis offloaded another 0.86% stake in Pine Labs for about Rs 152 crore.
Before the sale, Actis held a 4.58% stake in Pine Labs as of March 2026.
This is the second major monetisation by Madison India Capital from its decade-old investment in Pine Labs.
These share sale comes days after Elevation Capital, formerly known as SAIF Partners, trimmed its stake in Paytm.
