This comes after Paytm received the central bank's final approval to operate as a payment aggregator last month.

Paytm Payments Services Ltd, the payments arm of One 97 Communications, has received the approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to operate as a payment aggregator for in-person transactions and cross-border money transfers, according to a company filing.

The approval enables the firm to handle international payment processing for both money coming into and going out of India.

This comes after Paytm received the central bank's final approval to operate as a payment aggregator last month.

Armed with these authorizations, Paytm Payments Services now operates as a licensed payment aggregator across digital, physical, and international payment categories. The company stated this allows it to provide end-to-end payment processing solutions for merchants across different business models.

In its second quarter results for fiscal 2026, Paytm posted operating revenue of Rs 2,061 crore, marking an increase from Rs 1,659 crore in the corresponding period last year. Net profit, however, dropped dramatically to Rs 21 crore from Rs 930 crore in Q2 FY25, mainly due to a one-time gain that boosted the previous year's figures and an impairment charge taken in the recent quarter.

Last month, both PayGlocal and Easebuzz received similar cross-border payment aggregator approvals from the RBI.
