Pine Labs ropes in Razorpay's Jayaram Karthik as COO

Fintech company Pine Labs has appointed Jayaram Karthik as its Chief Operations Officer (COO).

In his new role, Karthik will oversee operations and merchant experience functions across both domestic and overseas markets. He will focus on building technology-driven operational frameworks aimed at delivering consistent, reliable, and localized experiences for merchants across the company's network.

Karthik brings more than 25 years of experience spanning operations, technology, analytics, and risk management. Prior to this appointment, Karthik was at Razorpay as Senior Vice President - Business Operations. Over the course of his career, he has also held senior positions at organizations including American Express, Citibank, Amazon and Tata Group.

Commenting on the development, Pine Labs CEO B. Amrish Rau said that as the company expands across more than 20 countries, establishing a strong and unified operational model has become increasingly important. He noted that Karthik's experience in managing complex operations for fast-growing businesses would support Pine Labs' next phase of international growth.

Karthik said that simplifying customer experiences will be a key differentiator for fintech companies in the years ahead. He added that combining technology, operations, and customer-centric processes would be critical in building long-term trust and supporting sustainable growth.
