Skyroot Aerospace-backer Aum Ventures marks first close of second fund

10 Aug 2026, 02:02 PM

More than 65% of the commitments for the first close came from overseas Limited Partners (LPs), or investors.

Venture capital firm Aum Ventures, which has invested in startups such as Skyroot Aerospace, has marked the first close of its second fund at Rs 225 crore.

The fund -- India Innovation Fund II -- has a target corpus of Rs 750 crore.

More than 65% of the commitments for the first close came from overseas Limited Partners (LPs), or investors, including family offices, entrepreneurs and strategic backers from the US, the Middle East and other international markets.

The new fund will invest primarily in pre-seed and seed-stage companies. It will invest in sectors such as artificial intelligence, space technology, semiconductors, aerospace, defence, robotics, energy transition and advanced manufacturing. Initial cheque sizes are expected to range between $750,000 and $2 million, with additional capital reserved for follow-on rounds through Series A and Series B.

The venture capital firm expects the fund to invest in around 25-30 startups. It aims to help portfolio companies expand globally through access to strategic partnerships, talent and industry networks across India, the US, Israel and the Middle East.

The launch of Fund II follows Aum Ventures' debut fund, introduced in 2023. Apart from Skyroot Aerospace, which turned unicorn earlier this year in May, its portfolio includes companies Azimuth AI, Cosmoserve Space, Sanyark Space, Sully.ai and Latentai.

Last month, another venture capital firm Inflexor Ventures hit the first close of its third fund.
