SoftBank has reduced its stake in e-commerce company Meesho by selling 8 crore shares through a block deal.

The transaction was valued at around Rs 1,650.4 crore, with shares changing hands at Rs 206.30 apiece.

The sale was executed by SoftBank’s investment arm, SVF II Meerkat (DE) LLC, and accounted for around 1.73% of Meesho’s equity.

The shares were acquired by a range of institutional investors, including Societe Generale - ODI, Motilal Oswal Large and Midcap Fund, Fidelity, Franklin Templeton, Manulife, Goldman Sachs Bank Europe, HDFC Standard Life Insurance, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, Canara Robeco Mutual Fund, and Bank of America Securities.

As of June 2026, SVF II Meerkat held an 8.60% stake in Meesho. Following the transaction, its shareholding is estimated to have declined to about 6.87%.

The deal marks another partial exit by SoftBank from an Indian technology companies. Earlier this year, the Japanese investor reduced its exposure in eyewear retailer Lenskart through block deals worth Rs 2,873 crore in June and Rs 2,888 crore in August.
