State Street Investment Management closes strategic investment in Groww AMC 2 min read

Groww Asset Management Ltd said that the strategic investment by State Street Investment Management in Groww AMC, its asset management arm, has been completed after receiving all necessary regulatory approvals.

The partnership, first announced in January 2026, gives State Street a 4.85% voting interest and a 23% economic interest in Groww AMC.

For Groww AMC, the partnership will bring expertise in areas including index investing, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), systematic investing, macroeconomic analysis and portfolio construction.

For State Street Investment Management, the partnership provides access to India’s growing wealth market through Groww AMC.

The two companies now plan to work together on product development, distribution and global market access. Groww AMC also plans to expand its range of active funds, ETFs and other passive investment products.

"Having State Street Investment Management as an investor and partner brings valuable global experience and perspectives that can help us strengthen our capabilities and build for the long term," said Harsh Jain, co-founder, Groww.

"India represents an important and strategic market for global investors," said Yie-Hsin Hung, Chief Executive Officer of State Street Investment Management.

Groww AMC has built both active and passive investment offerings in recent years. Its portfolio includes mutual funds as well as ETFs and other passive products covering sectors, themes and different investment strategies.

Groww also plans to build a platform in GIFT City to give Indian investors access to global investment opportunities and international markets.
