Visa has appointed Suresh Sethi as its new group country manager for India and South Asia. Sethi succeeds Sandeep Ghosh, who spent over four years in the position before departing to explore other opportunities.
Sethi comes with nearly three decades of experience across banking and financial services. He most recently served as managing director and CEO of Protean eGov Technologies. Prior to that, he served as MD and CEO of India Post Payments Bank. Sethi has previously spent over a decade at Citigroup, working across India, Africa, South America, and the United States with a focus on transaction banking.
India is one of Visa's most important growth markets, and competition in the space over past few years has been intensifying from homegrown network National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
Sethi's mandate is expected to revolve around deepening ecosystem partnerships and accelerating adoption across India and South Asia.
