Blacksmith raises Series B led by Peak XV Partners

AI-powered code testing and developer tools startup Blacksmith has raised $45 million in a Series B funding round led by Peak XV Partners.

The round values the company at $550 million and takes its total funding raised to $58.5 million.

The funding round also saw participation from existing investors Google Ventures (GV) and Y Combinator.

The fresh capital will be deployed to expand Blacksmith’s product portfolio beyond continuous integration (CI) workflows and build a wider suite of AI-powered coding tools that help developers write, test, validate, and merge software more efficiently.

Founded in 2024 by Aditya Jayaprakash, Aayush Shah, and Aditya Maru, Blacksmith provides a cloud platform for GitHub Actions CI workflows. The startup says its technology helps developers run workflows faster and at lower costs, and has expanded into AI-powered coding tools through its Codesmith agent. It serves over 5,000 customers, including Mercury, Supabase, Clerk, Ashby, and Expensify.

Commenting on the fundraise, the company said the investment will help accelerate its vision of building a comprehensive developer platform that streamlines software creation, testing, and deployment through AI-driven automation.

Prior to this round, Blacksmith had raised approximately $13.5 million from investors including GV and Y Combinator since its inception in 2024.
