LangChain said it has raised $125 million in its Series B funding round led by IVP at a valuation of $1.25 billion.
New investors CapitalG and Sapphire Ventures and existing investors Sequoia, Benchmark, and Amplify also invested in the round, the company said in a statement.
LangChain, which was founded in 2022 by Harrison Chase, will use the fresh capital to build the platform for agent engineering.
The startup also announced new releases of its open source frameworks – LangChain and LangGraph. It also launched a new agent Insight Agent in its LangSmith Observability that it claims automatically categorizes agent behavior patterns. LangSmith earlier helped users understand and test agents but its capability has been expanded to provide observability, evaluation, deployment and agent building.
It also introduced Agent Builder in private preview for business users.
The startup said that LangChain and LangGraph have a combined 90 million monthly downloads. Monthly trace volume for its commercial LangSmith platform has grown 12x year-on-year, it added.
