Consumer-focused venture capital firm Fireside Ventures, backer of startups such as Mamaearth and Boat, said that its co-founder and partner Vinay Singh will be stepping down after nearly a decade.
In a statement, Singh said his time at Fireside gave him the opportunity to build the firm alongside entrepreneurs and teams. He added that he now plans to explore opportunities in agentic commerce as artificial intelligence reshapes the way consumers shop and interact with brands.
Commenting on Singh's exit, Kanwaljit Singh, founder and managing partner of Fireside Ventures, said Singh had played an important role in building the venture firm into a recognised consumer-focused venture capital platform. He added that Fireside, now in its tenth year, has four senior partners and a team of 12 Principals and Vice Presidents with expertise across investing, brand building, channels, finance, HR, fundraising and ESG.
The firm said it would support Singh in his next chapter while continuing its operations under the existing leadership team.
Prior to joining Fireside Ventures, Singh was Advisor at consultancy firm McKinsey. Earlier, he he had also founded a startup Stepni, which was acquired by Qwikr. Previously, he worked at Bankbazaar.com and Unilever.
In December 2025, Fireside Ventures closed its fourth fund with a corpus of Rs 2,265 crore ($253 million), structured through an India-based master fund and a feeder fund in GIFT City to invest in early-stage consumer-focused businesses.
The Indian venture capital ecosystem has seen a slew of top level exits. Just earlier this year, Peak XV Partners saw another management shakeup as Ashish Agrawal, Ishaan Mittal and Tejeshwi Sharma left the venture capital firm to launch their own firm called Mettle Capital. Earlier this month, Mayank Khanduja, a former partner at Elevation Capital, joined Bessemer Venture Partners as a partner in its India practice.
Recently, Ganesh Rengaswamy, co-founder of Quona Capital, announced he has decided not to invest out of the fintech focused venture capital firm's fifth fund and will transition out of his operating role over the coming year.
